The “Golden Hours” to Post on TikTok for a Million Views
TikTok is currently a popular social media platform in many countries, including Vietnam. The TikTok platform has 800 million users worldwide. Notably, some young people who use this platform have become social media celebrities overnight.
Trends on TikTok change constantly, day by day, at a very fast pace. As a result, growth strategies must always be considered and adjusted regularly.
If you’re already a TikToker, or you’re considering joining the TikTok community as a newcomer, you’ve probably wondered: how can you get a lot more views on your TikTok videos? And how do you find the best time to post videos on TikTok?
In this post, The7 will give you two important questions to help you find the best time to post on TikTok for your audience. Once you’ve answered these questions, you’ll need to find ways to grow your audience. To help with that, we’ll share tips you can use to set up your TikTok account to support you.
On TikTok, the GOLDEN times for posting are:
6-8 AM ⇒ Post at 7-9 AM: This is when people start waking up, getting ready, eating breakfast, and scrolling through their TikTok feed.
11 AM-12 PM ⇒ Post at 11:30 AM-1:30 PM: Many people take their lunch break during this window, so TikTok’s online user volume is fairly high at this time.
7-9 PM ⇒ Post at 8 PM: At this time, TikTok devotees will use their dinnertime to scroll through TikTok a few times. So take advantage of this window to post.
10 PM-12 AM ⇒ Post at 10:30 PM: Night owls are fairly active at this time — CEOs, managers, IT professionals, business people, developers, designers, and more. If your products target this audience, this is truly a great time slot.

How to Discover the Best Time to Post on TikTok for Your Audience
TikTok’s analytics tool offers a way to find a wealth of information about your content and followers — where is this information?
Generally, everything you need to figure out the best time to post videos on TikTok is displayed in Account Analytics — including detailed information about when your audience is most active.
So how can you access TikTok Analytics?
Step 1: Create a Pro Account to Access TikTok Analytics
Before you can view your analytics, you need to upgrade to a TikTok Pro account.
- First, tap the three dots representing the menu at the top right of your profile.
- Next, tap “Manage my account.”
- From here, tap “Switch to Pro Account.”
Choose your account type and follow the instructions to complete the process.
Once you’ve finished, you’ll be taken back to your account menu, and you’ll get a notification confirming that you’ve upgraded to a TikTok Pro account.
After that, you’ll see a new menu item: Analytics!
Step 2: Familiarize Yourself with TikTok Analytics
In the analytics section, you’ll find three tabs:
- Overview: This tab provides a full picture of your video views, followers, and profile views.
- Content: Here, you can find metrics about your posts, such as views, likes, comments, and average watch time.
- Followers: This tab lets you explore information about your follower growth, the content they’ve engaged with, and their location.
Step 3: Identify Where Your TikTok Audience Is Located
TikTok, like all social media platforms, has a global user base.
For example: 1 in every 7 people in Thailand has downloaded the app. In India, there are more than 20 million users, while China sits at a massive 150 million and the US has more than 14 million. As for Vietnam, TikTok has reached 12 million monthly active users, with the 15-24 age group in the lead and 32% falling in the 25-34 age group.
Why do these numbers matter?
If you have a global audience, that will automatically affect how much content you produce. It’s also relevant to when you should post content. Time zones automatically dictate that most of your content will be viewed during the busiest hours in a given region.
Step 4: Determine What Time Your TikTok Viewers Are Active
You’ve now found out where your audience is located. Now it’s time to find out when they wake up so you can post on TikTok for the best results. Because TikTok is a network connecting all users globally, a video you post at the right time will reach more viewers and generate more quality engagement, whether from domestic users or international followers.
This isn’t overly complicated — it’s actually simple if you’re familiar with world time zones. In fact, if the time difference is small enough, your posting schedule won’t be disrupted at all.
For example: if you have a large audience in North America and the UK, you’ll need to plan and schedule content around an 8-hour time difference.
Unfortunately, TikTok doesn’t come with any automatic post-scheduling feature. Also, no social media management app currently lets you link your TikTok account to post or schedule content.
Step 5: Convert International Time to Your Time Zone
All information in TikTok Analytics is recorded in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
So you’ll need to convert the hours when your followers are most active into the time zones where your audience is located.
For example: suppose TikTok shows a spike in follower activity between 4 PM and 6 PM UTC.
If your audience is mostly in Italy, you can use Savvy Time to discover that the best time to post on TikTok is 6 PM to 9 PM.
Step 6: Track Your Content’s Performance Over Time
Finding specific time patterns in TikTok Analytics can be difficult, because this social media platform only shows content from the past seven days and deletes analytics data after just 28 days.
So if you genuinely want to find the best time to post on TikTok, you need to take a systematic approach.
This can be a bit time-consuming, but it’s a simple process. All you need to do is create a Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets file and enter the data for each of your posts.
Below is an example of what it might look like:

Over time, this information can become very valuable. You can sort it by views or territory and use it to discover the best times to post on TikTok.
You can also use this information to figure out which type of content resonates best with the target audience you’re going after.
For example, you might notice that your comedy clips perform especially well while your dance clips seem to get the fewest likes. In this case, you could revisit your dance clips and focus on producing more comedy content to grow your following.
Step 7: Check Your Other Platforms
Do you have an active audience on another platform like Instagram or YouTube? Do you produce similar content for the same target audience?
You can use your other social media accounts to help you find the best time to post on TikTok. Simply go to your other accounts and check their analytics.
